Okra Plant

There are many reasons for growing Okra. Okra is rich in numerous vitamins and minerals and nutrients that are responsible for health benefits and it help to prevent diabetes, support colon health, could help with respiratory issues like asthma.

I also like Okra because of its ability to withstand drought compared to other vegetables, but for good growth and production, you’ll need to water at least 2 to 3 times week, just as with other vegetables. Just know that if you run into an extended dry period and can’t seem to water enough, okra will be the last to suffer.  The early growth of okra is often slow, but the plants grow much faster once summer starts. My okra’s leaves get bigger now.  I am smiling every morning.
